Articulated Arms

Hexagon

Hexagon arms, previously known as Romer arms, are the go-to solution of the industry for portable measuring solutions. Hexagon Romer arms with their probing and scanning technology are the dominant solution in the Metrology industry for the part size of 0-5m. From 7 Axis Degree of Freedom to 6 Axis degree of Freedom, they are available in various configurations according to the requirement of the customer.

Some common Features Shared amongst all the arms

Absolute Encoders

Hexagon Romer Arms are the only set of arms that come with Absolute encoders. This technology in comparison to the encoder referencing arms prevalent in the market do not require any warm ups and are more accurate.

Build Quality and Temperature Protection

Hexagon Arms are made from Carbon Fibre enabling them to have sufficient strength and capability to function under any environmental conditions. They are the first set of arms with the IP54 rating accreditation with capability to working even in temperatures up to 45 degrees, well suited for the hot and humid Indian conditions.

Effortless Movement

Low friction grips on hexagon arms ensure that an operator can comfortably work with the Arm throughout his 8-hour shift with minimal fatigue.

ISO Certification

Hexagon Arms are ISO certified according to ISO 10360-12 for their probing capability.

Hexagon arms with the scanners are certified in line with ISO 103060-8 Annexure D.

Hexagon - Absolute Arm 7-Axis

The absolute arm 7-axis is the absolute arm flagship product, combining tactical probing and non-contact scanning in a particularly ergonomic compact. For high-end portable measuring applications, it’s the obvious choice. This is an articulating measuring arm that can’t be beat when it comes to ease of movement and measurement because usability is at the heart of its design.

An innovative modular wrist design, including an on-wrist display, provides build in versatility by putting control and results in the hand of the user. Choose from a variety of grisp forms and sizes, as well as variety of accessories, such as probe tips and 3D optical scanners, as well as entire measuring systems for specialised applications.

The portable arm’s scanners maintain the versatility that is at the heart of the absolute arm design idea. The RS5 laser scanner provides tried-and-true general purpose scanning capabilities. The revolutionary RS-SQUARED area scanner, based on structured light scanning technology, provides a high-productivity alternative. With its unbeatable accuracy, measurement speed, and multi-surface automated exposure functionality based on SHINE technology, the flagship absolute scanner AS1 is the key to quality 3D scanning and digitisation.

Each maybe installed on the absolute arm 7-axis without the requirement for realignment by the user, and the AS1 can even be mounted on a handheld position sensor and used with an absolute tracker to measure across larger volumes.

Some unique features about Hexagon 7 Axis arm

Probing and Scanning

Hexagon 7 Axis arms come with high-performance probes and scanners. The scanners which can be integrated with the arm are Absolute Scanners AS1 or RS Squared Areas Scanner, both having applications they are uniquely suited to. This flexibility in the choice of scanners and probes enables the customer optimum efficiency and performance during their inspection and reverse engineering processes.

Portability and Light Weight

Hexagon 7 axis arms do not weigh more than 10.5Kg making the use of these arms very easy for the operators over their long 8-hour shift. This minimal fatigue because of the light weight of the arm ensures minimal loss in accuracy over the shift. These machines are also very easily portable in nature coming up with a shock-proof resistance case.

Hexagon - Absolute Arm 6-Axis

With its Probing and entry-level scanning capability, hexagon absolute 6 axis arm is a solution that suits the customers for most mid-level applications of measurement and reverse engineering. Sharing the same absolute encoders as the 7-axis arm, Hexagon 6 axis arm is the go-to solution for customers looking to buy cost-effective portable metrology equipment.

Some Unique features of the 6-axis arm are

Probes and Scanners

Hexagon 7 Axis arms come with high pHexagon Portable 6-axis arms come with high accuracy probes especially made for this series of arms. They are also compatible with entry level HP-L-8.9 Laser Scanners, providing the customers with both deep technical probing and scanning capabilities.

Portability and Light Weight

Hexagon 6 axis arms, like their 7 axis variants, do not weigh more than 10.5Kg making the use of these arms very easy for the operators over their long 8-hour shift. This minimal fatigue because of the light weight of the arm ensures minimal loss in accuracy over the shift. These machines are also very easily portable in nature coming up with a shock-proof resistance case.

Hexagon Compact arm

Hexagon compact arms were built upon the idea of extreme portability. With its unique capability of using counterbalance instead of heave bases, Hexagon’s compact arms can be directly used on CNCs directly. These arms are plug and play in nature without any wait required. These arms come with internal batteries and WiFi connectivity for seamless wireless Inspection. Despite their small size and portability, there is no comparison to them in their probing accuracy.
